5. Olay ProX Advanced Cleaning System

 

• Company: Olay was formed in 1949 and was acquired by Procter and Gamble (P&G) in 1985. P&G greatly expanded Olay’s product line-up and helped turn it into one of the leading skin care manufacturers in the world. Olay conducts several safety and quality tests each year to ensure their creams are among some of the best anti aging products in the industry.

• Product: The Olay ProX Advanced Cleaning System is a 2-speed rotating system that is proven to cleanse the skin 6 times better than basic cleansing. Soft bristles gently exfoliate the skin in a far more effective method than applying cream with your fingers. Two AA batteries and a replaceable bristle brush head is included with orders.

• Criteria:

• Effectiveness: After about 1 month of use, you will develop a youthful glow. Carole used this product on her jaw and it did smooth out uneven skin spots. She had some dark spots that faded after using the product. She said it felt great and was more efficient than applying cream with fingers.

• Pleasantness:  The Olay ProX uses soft bristles to gently exfoliate the skin. They feel great on the skin compared to many other best antiaging products we tried.

4. Living Proof Full Thickening Mousse

 

• Company: Living Proof was founded by MIT Professors specializing in cell therapy, drug delivery, gene therapy and vaccines. The company has expanded to include research scientists and beauty experts to create some of the best anti aging products in the world. They have one common goal: “to invent breakthrough and innovative formulas that provide beautiful results you can see across the room.”

• Product: This mousse is a lightweight product that gives full body and and thickness to the hair. A key ingredient includes the patented Poly Beta Amino Ester-1 that works by creating a soft pattern of thickening points on the hair to increase texture and volume. A little bit goes a long way so it is important to start out with a bit so as to not overdo it.

• Criteria:

• Effectiveness: After frequent and continual use each morning or evening during a shower, tester #3 looked and felt more energetic. Tester #3 wasn’t convinced this treatment would help improve her appearance. After using this product, her hair had much more fullness and life to it and developed a light bounce after repeat use..

• Pleasantness: The Living Proof Mousse has a very lightweight, non-greasy texture and gentle non-irritating fragrance. After applying it, you will see why it is one of the best anti-aging products.

SkinCeuticals topped our best anti aging products 2010 list and appears that they will be amongst the best each year in the future.

• Product: The SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Gel combines two powerful ingredients in one unique formula: Hyaluronic acid and vitamin B5. Both work together to repair and restore damaged skin gradually over time. Hyaluronic acid balances proper moisture and collagen levels while the Vitamin B5 refreshes and soothes the skin while targeting free radicals that cause wrinkles. The B5 Gel is also effective at gradually eliminating unwanted wrinkles, fine lines and age spots after consistent daily use.

• Criteria:

• Effectiveness: I used this product each night for a 30 day period and woke each morning with dewy soft and smooth skin. It also made me feel surprisingly refreshed. After the 30 day period, I noticed that I had almost eliminated most darkness under and around my eyes which has been a long term problem for me. I highly recommend this cream.

• Pleasantness: This anti-oxidant rich gel feels refreshing as soon as it’s applied. It goes on smooth with a luxuriously soft texture.

• Product: The Anthelios Meroryl cream protects the skin from the sun’s harsh UV rays and further prevents future discoloration. One of the best anti aging products on the market, it locks in moisture for ultimate hydration and protection through the day. This cream includes an antioxidant rich formula that targets unwanted free radicals and tones the skin for an overall youthful glow. Anthelios SX contains Mexoryl SX, which is proven to be the most effective organic filter designed to protect against short UVA rays.

• Criteria:

• Effectiveness: Tester #1 and Carole both remarked that this cream was amazing and the best they have ever used. Carole said it nourished her skin without clogging the pores. At the end of the 30 day trial period of this product, her uneven skin around her eyes and down to her neck was much firmer then when she first started. This product could have easily topped our top 10 anti aging products list but after much debate we had decided there was one that was slightly better.

• Pleasantness: This product is quite thick so apply just a little bit to the skin. If you apply too much the cream takes a while to absorb and you have to remove the excess.

• Company: You most likely have heard of this leading skin care powerhouse. Neutrogena is the #1 dermatologist recommended skin care brand specializing in skin and hair care products. Many of Neutrogena’s best anti aging products 2011 and prior can be found in just about any cosmetic section of just about any department store. They have a very user friendly site that allows one to navigate through all of the detailed information.

• Product: The Neutrogena Dermatologics Retinol NX Progression Kit is essentially a tiered Neutrogena night cream with retinol. It contains three lotions that specially compliment each other leading to reduced wrinkles, fine lines and age spots. Follow the instructions of applying the anti aging products over a 90 day period and you will see results. Most manufacturers claim near instant results, but this Neutrogena night cream with retinol is different in that it is designed for gradual use over time.

• Criteria:

• Effectiveness: Tester #2 noticed that this cream smoothed out blemishes on her skin that she had wanted to eliminate for a while. She also had crow’s feet at the beginning of the 30 day trial period and at the end, they had nearly been fully disappeared. The skin around her eyes had been plumped and lifted for an more youthful appearance. She says she won’t be stopping the use of this product anytime soon. The rest of the Testers also tried this product there were significant improvements in differing degrees.
